Inicialmente programado para un lanzamiento de otoño 2025 en PlayStation 5 y Xbox Series X y S, GTA 6 ahora se lanzará el 26 de mayo de 2026. Este cambio mueve el lanzamiento del juego del año fiscal 2026 a 2027, provocando una caída del 7.98% en el valor de las acciones de la compañía durante el comercio temprano.
A pesar del retraso, Take-Two sigue siendo optimista sobre su futuro financiero. En una declaración en su sitio web corporativo, la compañía reiteró su expectativa de lograr niveles récord de reservas netas en los años fiscales 2026 y 2027. Zelnick expresó pleno apoyo a la decisión de Rockstar Games de retrasar el GTA 6, enfatizando la importancia de realizar la visión creativa del juego. "Apoyamos a los juegos completamente de rockstar que toman un tiempo adicional para realizar su visión creativa para Grand Theft Auto VI, que promete ser una experiencia de entretenimiento innovadora y exitosa que excede las expectativas de la audiencia", declaró Zelnick.
