Farlight Games, fresh off their successful 2024 collaboration with Lilith Games on AFK Journey, is launching a new title: Ace Trainer. Currently in soft launch in South Korea and the US, this game blends tower defense, pinball mechanics, and creature collection in a unique way.
Ace Trainer features the collection, training, and leveling up of fantastical creatures, reminiscent of Pokémon, but with a zombie-infested twist. Players deploy their creatures in tower defense-style battles against waves of undead. Pinball elements are incorporated into resource gathering. This unusual combination makes its global release uncertain, though the multi-region soft launch suggests high developer expectations.

A Risky Formula?
Ace Trainer's gameplay could be described as a "kitchen sink" approach, incorporating PvP, PvE, tower defense, and pinball mechanics. While individually popular, the combination raises questions about long-term player engagement and whether the various elements will cohere effectively. The game's success will depend on how well these diverse mechanics integrate and provide a compelling overall experience.
