Apple Unveils the iPhone 16e: A Budget-Friendly Option with Compromises

Apple recently launched the iPhone 16e, its newest entry-level model, succeeding the iPhone SE. While positioned as an affordable option, the $599 price point significantly narrows the gap with the $799 iPhone 16, reducing the substantial discount previously associated with the SE line. Pre-orders begin Friday, February 21st, with general availability on February 28th.

A Key First: Apple's C1 Modem

The iPhone 16e is notable for being the first device to incorporate Apple's C1 cellular modem. This marks a significant step for Apple, following the success of its in-house M-series and A-series chips.
