Among Us: Essential Tips for New Players

by Alexander Jan 19,2026

Among Us is a thrilling multiplayer party game that combines teamwork and deception, developed by Innersloth. In this space-themed adventure, players become either Crewmates or Impostors. Crewmates work together to complete essential tasks and keep their ship running, while Impostors secretly sabotage operations and eliminate crew members. This beginner's guide will help you grasp the basics of the game and level up your skills—whether you're teaming up with friends or joining public matches.

Playing as a Crewmate or Impostor

Among Us supports 4 to 15 players across various maps, including The Skeld, Polus, MIRA HQ, The Airship, and Fungle. Each player is randomly assigned one of two roles:

Crewmates: Your mission is to finish all tasks and uncover the Impostors. Impostors: Your goal is to act like a loyal crew member while secretly sabotaging the mission and taking out players undetected.

The game concludes when Crewmates complete all tasks or eliminate every Impostor through votes, or when the Impostors reduce the Crewmate count enough to seize control.

Emergency Meetings

Emergency Meetings are a key part of gameplay, allowing players to call a quick discussion to share suspicions or clues about the Impostors. Impostors can also use these meetings to mislead others. To start one, go to the lobby and press the large red button in the center. This brings all players together to debate and decide whether to vote someone off the ship. Use this time to share observations, analyze behavior, and exercise your detective skills.

For an enhanced experience, try playing Among Us on your PC or laptop using BlueStacks, which offers a bigger screen and support for keyboard and mouse controls.
