Meet Coen, the Dawnwalker

Players embody Coen, a Dawnwalker—a being existing between human and vampire—in the fictional 14th-century world of Vale Sangora. Unlike typical protagonists, Coen is portrayed as emotionally vulnerable and honest. His quest: save his family within a 30-day/night timeframe (though the game's time flow is non-linear). He confronts Brencis, an ancient vampire controlling Vale Sangora. The trailer showcases Coen's superhuman abilities, hinting at both physical prowess and magical potential.

Rebel Wolves, the developer (comprised of former CD Projekt Red veterans), clarified several fan questions via Discord. Dawnwalkers are not simply hybrids but a distinct entity. The magic system, while present, will focus on occult practices (rituals, amulets, etc.), rather than flamboyant spellcasting.

A Narrative Sandbox with Choices

Despite Coen's central goal, The Blood of Dawnwalker emphasizes player agency. The game will be a "narrative sandbox," offering non-linear gameplay and a dynamic world impacted by player choices. To maintain this single-player focus, there will be no multiplayer or co-op. However, romance options will be available, allowing Coen to forge relationships with various races, including uriashi, kobolds, and potentially werewolves.
