Digimon Story: Time Stranger Listing Leaks Ahead of PlayStation State of Play Showcase

by Ethan Feb 27,2025

A potential leak from GameStop suggests an upcoming Digimon game, Digimon Story: Time Stranger, may be unveiled during tonight's PlayStation State of Play. Gematsu discovered and shared pre-order listings for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions on the GameStop website, although details remain scarce.

The timing of this leak, just hours before Sony's State of Play presentation (a 40-minute showcase), strongly hints at an official announcement. While Sony has remained tight-lipped about the event's contents, the appearance of these pre-order listings makes a Digimon Story: Time Stranger reveal highly probable.

The Digimon Story series boasts a rich history, beginning with the original Nintendo DS title in the mid-2000s. Subsequent releases, including Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth (2015), Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth – Hacker’s Memory (2017), and their 2019 Complete Edition, have expanded the franchise across various platforms. These RPGs typically feature players befriending and battling Digimon.

Despite a 2022 tease from franchise producer Kazumashu Habu hinting at a new Story game, fans have eagerly awaited a new installment. While titles like Digimon Survive provided interim entertainment, the rumored Digimon Story: Time Stranger seems poised to finally deliver a true sequel.
