Released in Steam Early Access in 2024 to widespread acclaim, Fields of Mistria has quickly become a fan favorite. With a major update already released and another planned for March 2025, this $13.99 farming simulator is garnering significant attention. But is it worth the investment in its current early access state? The answer, based on extensive playtime and overwhelmingly positive reviews, is a resounding yes.

Fields of Mistria earned top spots on several 2024 "best of" lists, including The Escapist's and Patch Magazine's Game of the Year award. Its charm lies in its well-developed characters, engaging storylines, and satisfying gameplay loop. The game expertly blends compelling narratives with classic farming sim elements: farming, fishing, mining, and crafting. Even after 100+ hours of gameplay, the vast amount of content keeps the experience fresh and rewarding.

Unlike some competitors (like Harvest Moon or Story of Seasons), Fields of Mistria boasts richly detailed NPCs, each with unique dialogue and interactions. Even non-romanceable characters feel fully realized, preventing the one-dimensional feel often found in similar games.
