Lokko: A New 3D Platformer from India's Appy Monkeys, Powered by Sony
Appy Monkeys, an Indian game developer, in collaboration with Sony's India Hero Project, is bringing us Lokko, a vibrant 3D platformer. This exciting title features cross-play functionality across mobile, PC, and PS5, with DualShock support on all platforms.
India's growing game development scene is often overlooked, but Lokko, with its innovative features, is poised to change that. The game, born from Sony's initiative to support Indian developers, offers players a unique experience.
Lokko's core gameplay revolves around timely pizza delivery amidst a battle against the villainous Goobol food corporation. But what truly sets Lokko apart is its comprehensive level editor and in-depth avatar creator, allowing for extensive customization and replayability.
Lokko in Action
Lokko's design incorporates elements reminiscent of successful titles like Roblox, showcasing a low-poly aesthetic combined with character customization and user-generated content. However, Lokko benefits from the backing of PlayStation, presenting a strong potential competitor in the platforming genre.
While the gameplay may not be revolutionary, Appy Monkeys' vision is undeniably promising. The integration of cross-platform play and DualShock support across all platforms is a significant achievement. Lokko’s release date is slated for sometime this year.
In the meantime, fans of indie games can explore another recent cross-platform release: Dredge, the captivating eldritch fishing simulator from Black Salt Games.
