Metaphor: ReFantazio Releases New Update for January 2025

Metaphor: ReFantazio receives Update 1.11, enhancing menu navigation and addressing PC-specific bugs. This update follows the game's incredibly successful launch in October 2024, achieving one million global sales on its first day and garnering widespread critical acclaim, including multiple Game of the Year awards and a perfect 100 score on OpenCritic.

Update 1.11 introduces improved menu functionality across all platforms. Players can now adjust battle formations and swap party members directly from the main menu and equipment screen. A new category jump feature on the item screen allows for quicker navigation. PC players benefit from numerous bug fixes, including improvements to camera controls, frame rate stability, and controller responsiveness.

While a sequel is not currently in development, director Katsura Hashino expressed his hope for a future Metaphor: ReFantazio series in an interview with Weekly Famitsu, envisioning it alongside Persona and Shin Megami Tensei as a major JRPG franchise. This desire, coupled with Atlus's recent success, fuels fan anticipation for future announcements, particularly regarding the long-awaited Persona 6.
