Five Nights at Freddy's 2 Trailer Debuts, Animatronics Escape

We are stepping back into the world of Five Nights at Freddy's, but this time, the terror isn't confined to the pizzeria. The debut trailer for Five Nights at Freddy's 2 has landed, revealing a major shift: the animatronics are escaping Fazbear's Pizza to unleash chaos in the outside world.

Beyond the breakout, the trailer offers a closer look at the mysterious FazTalker. Introduced on the movie's first poster, this device—which resembles a hybrid of a walkie-talkie and a vintage children's boombox—appears to function as many fans guessed: it serves as a conduit for spirits to communicate with the living.

However, the spirits aren't trying to reach Mike, the protagonist played by Josh Hutcherson. Instead, their pleas are directed at his younger sister, Abby, who formed a unique bond with the animatronics' spirits in the first film. In the trailer, they ask for her help, and she, Mike, and his police officer friend Vanessa (Elizabeth Lail) seem to answer the call. While they intend to help, this could very well be a trap, potentially orchestrated by the presumed-dead William Afton (Matthew Lillard).

The preview also gives fans their first look at the Withered animatronics, with Withered Bonnie—sometimes called Faceless Bonnie—front and center. As the primary antagonist of the second FNAF game, Withered Bonnie's terrifying presence suggests the film will closely follow the game's narrative.

One of the trailer's most entertaining moments arrives near the end when Mike discovers a Freddy Fazbear mask in the office. Series fans will recognize this as a classic game mechanic meant to provide camouflage from the roaming animatronics at night. "There's no way this will work," Mike mutters, just as Chica and Withered Bonnie move in for an attack.
