Creatures Inc., the developer of Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket, has issued 1,000 Trade Tokens to players. This is enough for only two substantial trades, a temporary measure while the company addresses concerns about the recently implemented trading mechanic.
Players will find these tokens in their in-game Gift menu. Creatures Inc. acknowledged player feedback and apologized for the initial rollout on X/Twitter. The trading feature, launched last week, faced significant criticism, with many calling it "hilariously toxic," "predatory," and "downright greedy."
The trading system's limitations, including the Trade Token restriction, drew considerable ire. Players highlighted the high cost of acquiring these tokens, requiring the deletion of five cards to trade one of similar rarity.

The backlash to the trading system, which followed a preview three weeks prior, has persisted for eight days. Creatures Inc. previously stated that player concerns were noted and invited feedback, leading many to expect a more positive launch. However, the developer later conceded that restrictions hindered casual enjoyment of the trading feature.
While promising to address these issues through future event rewards, the recent Cresselia ex Drop Event (February 3rd) failed to include any such items.
Many believe the trading system's design prioritizes revenue generation for Pokémon TCG Pocket, which reportedly earned $200 million in its first month, before trading was even available. This is further supported by the inability to trade cards of 2-Star rarity or higher; allowing such trades would likely reduce the need for players to spend significant sums ($10, $100, or more) on packs for a chance to obtain these cards. One player reported spending approximately $1,500 to complete the first set.
