Game Introduction

Blackjack, or Tarneeb Blackjack as it's known across the Arab world, particularly in the Levant, is a popular card game. In the Arab Gulf states, it's called "Rule." The goal is to win consecutive Tarneeb rounds. Four players participate, forming two teams of two. Teams play until the end, with the winning team declared at the conclusion.

The game utilizes a standard 52-card deck (no Jokers). Gameplay proceeds clockwise, beginning with the player to the dealer's left. Two pairs of players form opposing teams.

Cards are dealt clockwise, starting to the dealer's right.

Bidding: Bidding starts at 7, increasing to 13 ("Cabot/Livers"). Bidding proceeds clockwise, starting from the player to the dealer's right. The highest bidder chooses the Tarneeb.

If a bid cannot be met, the shortfall is deducted from the bidder's score. For example, if a player bids 10 and collects only 9, the difference (1) is subtracted from their score, and the opposing team receives credit for the cards collected (in this case, 4).

If the opposing team's score is higher, the difference is deducted.

The game concludes when one team reaches either 61 or 31 points, depending on the agreement made before the game begins.
