Chess Engines

The Chess Engines application is designed to enhance your chess gameplay experience by integrating seamlessly with chess GUI applications. This app does not come with its own graphical interface but serves as a vital backend component, offering a suite of powerful chess engines that can be utilized by any Android chess application supporting the OEX (Open Exchange) protocol.

Included within this application are native executables for renowned open-source chess engines:

• Stockfish 17 - The latest iteration of the acclaimed Stockfish engine, known for its superior analysis and gameplay. Learn more at Stockfish 17.
• Stockfish 16.1 - A previous but still potent version of Stockfish, offering robust chess analysis capabilities. More details at Stockfish 16.1.
• Clover 7.0 - A competitive chess engine that provides insightful game analysis. Explore further at Clover 7.0.

For the best user experience, we recommend pairing these engines with one of the following chess GUIs:

• Analyze your Chess (free version) - Available for download at Analyze your Chess.
• Analyze your Chess Pro (paid version) - Enhance your experience with additional features, downloadable at Analyze your Chess Pro.

To integrate these powerful engines into your preferred chess GUI, navigate to the Engine Management Screen, access the Overflow Menu, and select 'Install Open Exchange Engine.' From there, you can choose and install the desired chess engine(s) to start analyzing your games with precision and depth.
