Little Bee

The Kiwanis Club of New Kingston (KCNK) has introduced an exciting spelling app for kids aged 4 to 9, sponsored by Grace Kennedy Money Services (GKMS) and Western Union (WU). The KCNK Little Bee Game offers a fun way to learn spelling with three engaging modes, each containing 10 levels with over 15 words per level. The words get longer as you progress, making it a great challenge for young learners.

In the Settings, students can enter their name, age, parish, and school. They can choose from Learning Mode 1, Learning Mode 2, or Competition Mode.

Learning Mode 1 helps students spell words by tapping letters from left to right. The app pronounces each letter, allowing kids to repeat it aloud. If a mistake is made, students can tap to correct it. To hear the word again, they can tap the little bee icon at the top left. Students must spell each word correctly to advance and complete the level, with the option to retry any level at any time.

Learning Mode 2 challenges students with jumbled letters. They must rearrange the letters to spell the word correctly. Similar to Mode 1, mistakes can be undone, and the word can be replayed by tapping the bee icon. Students must spell all words correctly to finish each level and can retry levels as needed.

Competition Mode adds extra letters to the jumbled mix, and students must find the correct word quickly. They are timed for each word, with times added to a total for the level. Students receive 10 random words per level and aim to complete it as fast as possible. The leaderboard on the main page displays the time spent on each level.

Students can reset the game from the Settings page and should wait for a letter to finish being called before selecting the next one. Parents and students can take screenshots of the leaderboard to share with teachers.
