Japanese Mahjong
Japanese Mahjong is a captivating game played under traditional Japanese rules. To engage in the game, you'll use a Slider located at the bottom of the screen to select and then tap to discard tiles.
The objective of Mahjong is to complete your hand by forming four Melds and one Pair. For example, a valid hand might look like this: [1, 2, 3], [6, 6, 6], [6, 7, 8], [N, N, N], [4, 4]. However, certain hands are not valid if they involve Chi, Pon, or Open Kan. It's crucial to be aware of this when forming sequences or sets, especially with the numbers 1 and 9.
In Japanese Mahjong, you need at least one valid hand to win. You can enhance your chances of completing a hand by declaring "Reach" for a cost of 1,000 points. Note that you cannot declare Reach if you've already used Chi, Pon, or Open Kan. A closed hand, one that hasn't used any of these melds, can earn you higher points.
Understanding the concept of a "Lost Hand" is also essential. A Lost Hand occurs when you're Waiting to win, but you can't win off someone else's discard because you've already discarded a winning tile yourself. Even with a Lost Hand, you can still win by self-drawing a tile. The key is to avoid "Ron," which is winning off another player's discard. You must ensure you never win with a tile that you previously discarded.
To succeed, it's crucial to carefully analyze the other players' discards and strategize accordingly to complete your hand.
