It's back, once again! Seth MacFarlane’s beloved animated series, *American Dad*, is making a triumphant return to Fox, set for its second debut on the network in 2026. Joining it will be new episodes of MacFarlane’s other iconic show, *Family Guy*. This midseason homecoming is a nostalgic event for fans, as both series originally aired on Fox from 2005 to 2014 before moving to TBS, where they stayed until March of this year. The return of these shows is a strategic move by Fox to maintain its "winning position" in primetime television programming.
Fox Entertainment CEO Rob Wade expressed his enthusiasm, stating via Variety, “Building on our winning position in both key demos and co-viewing this season, Fox delivers a 2025-26 schedule that’s filled with irreverence, fun and much-needed laughter. Next year more than ever, we’re bringing that promise to life with a terrific slate to delight our audiences across linear, Hulu and beyond.” This statement underlines Fox's commitment to providing quality entertainment that resonates with viewers across various platforms.
Fox is not just bringing back fan favorites; they are also innovating in the realm of streaming services. The network has unveiled Fox One, a new platform that will integrate news, sports, and entertainment programming. Fox One will offer both live streaming and on-demand access to the full catalog of Fox brands, with the added option to bundle it with Fox Nation, enhancing the viewer experience within a single platform.
While *American Dad* does not yet have a specific premiere date for its resurgence on Fox, anticipation is high among fans. We'll all be eagerly waiting (and likely singing the catchy theme song). There's a good chance it will also be available on Fox One, though we'll have to wait until next year for official confirmation. Get ready to welcome back Stan, Francine, and the whole Smith family to your screens soon!
