Resident Evil Mobile Game Launches Soon by Aniplex, Capcom

The Resident Evil franchise is introducing a bold new mobile experience called Resident Evil Survival Unit. Breaking away from traditional zombie shooters and survival puzzles, this installment will challenge players to strategically command units and coordinate tactical assaults.

A Genre-Shifting Approach to Survival Horror

Survival Unit transforms the series' signature survival horror into a real-time strategy format—a dramatic departure from the tense, resource-limited gameplay that has defined the franchise since its 1996 debut. Rather than struggling for survival in cramped corridors, players will oversee tactical operations against the infection.

The project brings together an intriguing collaboration: Aniplex (known for anime hits like Demon Slayer and Fate/Grand Order), JoyCity Corporation (developers of Gunship Battle: Total Warfare), and Capcom itself. This partnership hints at ambitious plans for the iconic horror franchise.

Global Launch Plans and Upcoming Reveal

Resident Evil Survival Unit is confirmed for a worldwide release across North America, Europe, and Asia (including Japan and South Korea). While an exact release date remains unannounced, fans won't have to wait long for details.

Aniplex and JoyCity will host an online showcase on July 10th at 10:00 PM UTC to reveal gameplay specifics. Bookmark the official stream to catch all the reveals firsthand.

This marks a significant directional shift for Resident Evil's mobile presence. Since 2001's Biohazard i Survivor, nearly all handheld entries have adhered to survival horror conventions. Survival Unit's RTS mechanics represent the franchise's most radical mobile reinvention yet.
