Ark 2, the highly anticipated dinosaur survival sequel, is back in the spotlight! After a period of silence that fueled speculation of delays or even cancellation, developer Studio Wildcard has announced Ark: Lost Colony, a brand-new expansion for the Ark: Survival Ascended remake. This expansion serves as a crucial bridge, directly connecting the storylines of Ark's Extinction and Genesis expansions and setting the stage for the events of Ark 2.

The reveal trailer for Ark: Lost Colony, produced by the acclaimed anime studio Mappa (known for Jujutsu Kaisen, Attack on Titan, and Chainsaw Man), features voice work by Michelle Yeoh, reprising her role as Mei Yin from Ark: The Animated Series. The expansion promises stunning cinema-grade anime sequences integrated into the gameplay.

PlayStudio Wildcard describes *Ark: Lost Colony* as a journey into a frozen world where players follow Mei Yin on a quest to uncover long-buried secrets of Ark's past. Survivors will face new challenges in a vast occupied city, gaining access to powerful abilities, unique gear, innovative building systems, and exotic creatures to tame. The central question remains: can survivors confront the demons of Arat Prime and link Ark's past to its future?

Ark 2, the Unreal Engine 5-powered sequel to Ark: Survival Evolved, was initially announced in 2020 with a planned 2022 release. Subsequent delays pushed the release to 2023, and then to late 2024, as an Xbox Series X|S console exclusive, launching day-one on Game Pass and simultaneously on PC via Steam and Windows.

PlayWhile *Ark 2's* release date remains unconfirmed, the announcement of *Ark: Lost Colony* reassures fans that development is progressing. Although Studio Wildcard didn't provide an updated release window for *Ark 2*, *Ark: Lost Colony* pre-orders begin in June 2025, granting immediate access to exclusive preview gameplay. The full release of *Ark: Lost Colony* is scheduled for November 2025, priced at $29.99 for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
