Battlefield 6 Beta Expands With Custom Search, Playlists

by Patrick Feb 19,2026

After the successful first Open Beta weekend, developer DICE has detailed the updates and new content players can look forward to during Weekend 2, along with the official start time.

Weekend 2 begins today, August 14, at 8 AM UTC (1 AM PT) and concludes on Sunday, August 17.

In a recent blog post, DICE explained the playlist updates for Weekend 2. The key takeaway is that the All-Out Warfare playlist will now feature Breakthrough, Conquest, and Rush modes.

"This weekend, we're offering more variety and player choice with playlists that rotate between several game modes," DICE stated.

"For instance, the All-Out Warfare playlist will include Breakthrough, Conquest, and Rush. You can check the in-game descriptions for each playlist to see which modes are currently in rotation.

"Rotating modes within playlists helps us understand what our community enjoys as we prepare for launch, and it allows us to keep more popular modes available simultaneously."

DICE clarified that daily playlist rotations are specific to the Open Beta for testing and feedback purposes and are not planned for the full game's release.

Battlefield 6 Open Beta Weekend 2 Playlist Schedule:

Day 1, Thursday, August 14th

Conquest Rush Attack & Defend (Breakthrough, Rush) Close Quarters; A fast-paced playlist on smaller maps (Domination, King of the Hill) Closed Weapons All-Out Warfare (Conquest, Breakthrough)

Day 2, Friday, August 15th

Conquest Squad Deathmatch Close Quarters; A fast-paced playlist on smaller maps (Domination, King of the Hill, Squad Deathmatch) All-Out Warfare; Epic battles on expansive maps (Conquest, Breakthrough, Rush) Closed Weapons All-Out Warfare (Conquest, Breakthrough)

Day 3-4, Saturday, August 16th - Sunday, August 17th

Conquest Close Quarters; A fast-paced playlist on smaller maps (Domination, King of the Hill, Squad Deathmatch). All-Out Warfare; Epic battles on expansive maps (Conquest, Breakthrough, Rush) Closed Weapons All-Out Warfare (Conquest, Breakthrough)

Additionally, DICE has introduced new custom search options for Weekend 2. The developer emphasized this is a Custom Search feature, not a full Server Browser, which some players have requested.

"Based on your feedback and to give you greater control, we're rolling out a new feature called Custom Search," DICE announced.

"This tool lets you pick your preferred combinations of maps and modes. For example, if you want to play Conquest on Siege of Cairo, matchmaking will prioritize finding a match with that specific setup when possible. Please note this is not a Server Browser, which is not part of this week's test.

"During the Open Beta, Custom Search will be available for Open Weapon mode playlists, allowing you to freely mix and match maps and modes."

The Battlefield 6 Open Beta saw over 500,000 concurrent players on Steam last weekend. It will be interesting to see if Weekend 2 can surpass that record. Regardless, the significant interest in this first-person shooter is a positive sign for its October launch.

If you're planning to join on PC for the first time, remember that you need to enable Secure Boot to play.
