Navigating through the diverse world of *R.E.P.O.*, players face the daunting challenge of confronting 19 unique monsters, each requiring swift and strategic responses to progress. Among these, the Eye Monster, known as the Peeper, poses a unique challenge. Here's a detailed guide on how to effectively defeat the Peeper in *R.E.P.O.*.
The Peeper, a stealthy adversary, lurks on ceilings and is notorious for spotting players before being noticed. This giant eyeball remains closed until you venture into its detection range, spawning unpredictably across the map.
Once it detects you, the Peeper opens its eye, locking your gaze and causing a disorienting effect that prevents you from looking away. This connection inflicts two points of damage to your health per second, which, while not the most dangerous in terms of damage output, can be significantly disruptive, particularly in the presence of other threats.
While under the Peeper's gaze, your field of view narrows to focus solely on the eyeball, complicating navigation and escape from other dangers. To mitigate this, always remain vigilant of potential Peeper spawn locations and plan your movements with an escape route in mind.
The most effective strategy against a Peeper is to break its line of sight. Moving around a corner or through a doorway can disrupt its gaze. If feasible, closing the door behind you can be a game-changer. Teaming up with another player can make this task easier, as they can assist in closing the door, thereby severing the Peeper's connection.
To eliminate a Peeper, you'll need the 'Gun', available for purchase at the Service Station for approximately $47K. It may require several shots to defeat this monster. Although challenging to aim while under the Peeper's influence, it's possible with composure. As with many aspects of *R.E.P.O.*, having a teammate can significantly simplify the task.
Now that you're equipped to handle the Peeper, explore our other guides to enhance your survival skills in *R.E.P.O.*.
