The Biggest Games Coming in 2025

by Patrick Feb 23,2025

Happy New Year! Welcome to 2025! Let's dive into the most anticipated video game releases slated for this year.

January 2025

Dynasty Warriors: Origins
Kicking off the year on January 17th is Dynasty Warriors: Origins, the latest installment in Tecmo Koei's renowned musou series. This marks the franchise's first full-fledged release since 2018, leveraging current-gen technology for an epic, enemy-slaying experience. Prepare for a screen-filling onslaught! Available on PS5, Xbox Series consoles, and PC.

For those who prefer long-range takedowns, Sniper Elite: Resistance arrives on January 30th. This entry continues the tradition of… well, let's just say it's a highly effective Nazi-incapacitation simulator. Expect more of the same satisfying (and anatomically detailed) action. Available on all Xbox and PlayStation consoles, plus PC.

February 2025

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
February 11th sees the release of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Continuing the adventures of Henry of Skalitz, this historically-rich RPG promises a deep, immersive experience in 14th-century Bohemia. Expect a challenging yet rewarding journey. Available on current-gen consoles and PC.

On the same day, Sid Meier's Civilization 7 launches. This legendary strategy game needs little introduction. Guide your civilization through the ages, conquering, exploring, and expanding your empire. Available on virtually every platform (excluding mobile initially).

Prepare for some stealth action on February 14th with Assassin's Creed Shadows, set in feudal Japan. Play as both a ninja and a samurai in this dual-protagonist adventure. Available on current-gen consoles and PC.

For a unique Valentine's Day experience, there's Date Everything!, a sandbox dating sim where the possibilities are… well, limitless. Romance inanimate objects! Available on PS5, Xbox Series consoles, Switch, and PC.

Monster Hunter Wilds
Obsidian's Avowed arrives on February 18th for Xbox Series consoles and PC. Set in the same universe as Pillars of Eternity, this first-person RPG offers real-time combat and a more focused narrative compared to some other open-world behemoths.

February 21st brings Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii. Goro Majima, a fan-favorite character, takes center stage in this pirate-themed adventure. Available on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC consoles.

Finally, one of the year's biggest releases, Monster Hunter Wilds, launches February 28th for Xbox Series, PS5, and PC. Capcom aims to refine the core experience while introducing new features to appeal to both veterans and newcomers.

March 2025

Split Fiction
March 6th brings the co-op adventure Split Fiction from Hazelight Studios. Expect a wild, sci-fi and fantasy-infused journey. One copy allows two players to play online together. Available on PC and current-gen consoles.

For a more relaxed experience, Tales of the Shire (March 25th) offers a cozy life sim focused on the daily lives of hobbits. Available on PS5, Xbox Series consoles, Switch, and PC.

If you prefer post-apocalyptic settings, Atomfall (March 27th) offers a survival experience inspired by Fallout and Stalker. Available on all platforms except Switch.

Also on March 27th, The First Berserker: Khazan, a single-player action RPG based on the Dungeon Fighter universe, launches for Xbox, PlayStation, and PC consoles.

March 28th sees the PC release of inZOI, a visually stunning life simulator that could potentially disrupt the life sim market. Console versions are planned for later.

April 2025

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves
Finally, April 24th brings the long-awaited return of Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, the first new entry in the series this century. Available on PlayStation, Xbox Series, and PC consoles.
