Call of Duty: Warzone Temporarily Disables Popular Shotgun

Call of Duty: Warzone's Reclaimer 18 Shotgun Temporarily Deactivated

The popular Reclaimer 18 shotgun in Call of Duty: Warzone has been temporarily disabled. The official Call of Duty announcement lacked specifics regarding the reason for its removal, leading to player speculation.

Warzone's extensive arsenal, constantly expanding with weapons from new Call of Duty titles, presents balancing challenges. Integrating weapons designed for different games (like the Modern Warfare 3 Reclaimer 18) can result in overpowered or unstable performance.

The Reclaimer 18, a semi-automatic shotgun inspired by the SPAS-12, has been pulled "until further notice." The lack of explanation fueled player theories, with some suggesting a problematic "glitched" blueprint version as the culprit. Videos and images circulated showcasing its unusually high lethality.

Player reaction is mixed. Many welcomed the temporary removal, hoping to curb the weapon's perceived overpowered status, particularly when used with the JAK Devastators aftermarket parts, enabling dual-wielding. While some players appreciated the nostalgic "akimbo shotgun" element, others found it frustrating to encounter.

However, some players expressed disappointment, arguing the disabling was overdue. Given the problematic blueprint's exclusivity to a paid Tracer Pack, they criticized the potential for unintentional "pay-to-win" scenarios and called for more rigorous testing before releasing such content. The situation highlights the ongoing balancing act developers face when introducing new weapons and content to Warzone.
