While many *Monster Hunter Rise* achievements focus on battling behemoths, one delightfully quirky achievement requires finding the tiniest creature: the Sandstar. This guide will walk you through capturing this elusive endemic life and unlocking the "I Caught a Shooting Star" trophy/achievement.

The "I Caught a Shooting Star!" achievement is deceptively simple yet surprisingly tricky. Its rarity stems from its hidden nature; many players miss it entirely. To unlock it, you must capture the Sandstar, a tiny desert mouse-like creature with shimmering fur, found only at night in the Windward Plains.
Since Windward Plains exploration usually occurs during the day, you'll need to manipulate the in-game time. Here are two methods:
Fast Travel: The earliest method. Once you've unlocked multiple fast travel points in the Windward Plains, repeatedly fast travel between them. This will gradually advance the time until nightfall.
Resting: Available after completing Chapter 3 and unlocking high-rank content. Use Guild Points to rest at a camp and select "Nighttime" for the time of day.

The Sandstar is small and incredibly fast, even for your trusty Palamute. Before the hunt, consider gathering Screamer Pods. These can be obtained from Baunos, small winged monsters found in groups around Areas 11 and 13 of the Windward Plains. While not essential, Screamer Pods significantly ease capture.
Once night falls in the Windward Plains, head to the midpoint between Areas 11 and 13. Keep a close eye out for the Sandstar. When spotted, chase it at full speed. If you have Screamer Pods, use one to stun the Sandstar. Immediately switch to your Capture Net (used for fishing) and capture it.
Upon successful capture, the "I Caught a Shooting Star!" trophy/achievement will unlock, along with the "Ribbon Dream: Amber" nameplate for your Hunter Profile. This concludes your quest for this unique achievement! For more *Monster Hunter Rise* guides, including how to skip cutscenes, check out our other content.
