Chibi-Robo! becomes the latest GameCube classic joining Nintendo Switch 2's Online library, arriving as early as next week.
Nintendo had previously confirmed this charming platformer's inclusion through their eShop announcement, but has now specified August 21, 2025 as its release date. Following Super Mario Strikers (known as Mario Smash Football in Europe), it marks the second title added since Switch 2's June launch.
Nintendo Switch Online offers subscribers cloud gaming services and access to decades of classic games, including NES, SNES, Game Boy, Nintendo 64, and now the expanding GameCube collection. New users can explore these features through a seven-day free trial.
The current GameCube lineup features beloved titles like The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, F-Zero GX, Soulcalibur 2, and Super Mario Strikers. Future additions may include Super Mario Sunshine, Luigi's Mansion, and Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness, complemented by Nintendo's official GameCube controller replica for authentic gameplay.
Originally released in 2006, Chibi-Robo! earned IGN's Editor's Choice with an 8.2/10 score, with reviewers urging players to experience its unique charm.
"Many might dismiss this game for being either too quirky or too adorable," we noted in IGN's original review. "While both observations hold truth, it remains an engaging puzzle-platformer offering rewarding gameplay."
The Nintendo Switch 2 shows promising early performance with 3.5 million units sold, though third-party titles appear to face uneven sales performance based on launch week analytics.
