Initially, you're a Soul Spirit. To become a Shinigami, accept the first quest from the NPC, Hurt Shinigami. This choice is irreversible; you can't switch to Hollow unless you become a Visored (explained later). If you prefer the Hollow path, consult our separate Hollow progression guide. The choice is time-sensitive. If you choose Hollow, simply break your chain. If you choose Shinigami, the chain will break automatically every two minutes. Hollow Era Shinigami Quests Guide

Your first task is to purify six Lost Souls. Next, deliver a letter to a doctor near the hospital (the NPC is near Hurt Shinigami). This early stage is ideal for learning your abilities. Consider purchasing a $1000 random power sword from the Urahara shop and, if your budget allows, the $200 bus stop teleport for faster travel. Alternatively, the Robux shop offers infinite fast travel for 149 Robux.

Further quests are marked with a red crosshair. Expect tasks like defeating Hollows and Corrupted Shinigamis, leading to level 15. Quests include repeatable tasks, progression quests, and those linked to paths like Vizard and Airwalk.

Full Soul Reaper Skill Tree and Reiatsu

Strategic skill point allocation maximizes your Reiatsu. The Reiatsu Skill Tree features Kido abilities:
