Deltarune Chapters 3 & 4: Save Transfers & New Character Revealed!

Undertale creator Toby Fox has provided a progress update on Deltarune Chapters 3 and 4, currently undergoing console testing. While significant work remains, Fox reports smooth progress, noting that fewer bugs are present. He specifically mentions that PS5 testing hasn't begun yet.

A key development is the integration of save file transfer functionality. Players will soon be able to carry over their saves from the Chapters 1 and 2 demo to the full release of Chapters 3 and 4 on consoles. This feature, recently enabled by acquired technology, is described by Fox with hopeful anticipation.

With beta testing progressing well, a release date may be imminent. Fox has previously confirmed a 2025 release window for Chapters 3 and 4.

A New Character Emerges: Tenna

Amidst the development, Fox shared a humorous anecdote about a minigame he's creating for Deltarune. His family and friends interpreted it as a "cry for help" due to the game's delayed release, prompting both supportive and comedic reactions. This sparked speculation that the minigame might be intended for Chapter 5, given Fox's previous statement that Chapters 3 and 4 are content-complete.

More significantly, Fox casually confirmed the existence of a previously unannounced character, Tenna. A friend's nostalgic comment about missing Tenna, a character initially glimpsed during the Spamton Sweepstakes in September 2022, revealed her inclusion in the upcoming Chapter 3.

Deltarune, the spiritual successor to Undertale, continues to build anticipation. Players will once again follow Kris, Susie, and Ralsei on their world-saving adventure, inheriting familiar gameplay mechanics alongside a fresh narrative and ensemble.
