Doug Bowser Confirms Adequate Switch 2 Supply for U.S. Demand

by Chloe May 21,2025

If you're eager to get your hands on a Nintendo Switch 2 in the U.S., you're in luck. According to Nintendo of America president Doug Bowser, the company is confident it will have enough units to satisfy consumer demand throughout 2025, including the holiday season. The Nintendo Switch 2 is set to launch on June 5, and Nintendo plans to maintain a "continuous flow of product" to meet the high demand they've already seen through preorders.

Nintendo has forecasted the production of 15 million units for the Switch 2 and an additional 4.5 million units for the original Nintendo Switch during the fiscal year. This ambitious plan is designed to match the success of the initial Nintendo Switch launch in its first 10 months. Despite a rocky start with preorders, which were delayed due to tariffs and went live on April 24 with a price of $449.99, Bowser's recent statements suggest that those who have preordered should be able to secure a console.

However, Nintendo has cautioned that release date delivery for preorders from the My Nintendo Store isn't guaranteed due to overwhelming demand. For more information on securing your Switch 2, check out IGN's comprehensive Nintendo Switch 2 pre-order guide.

Amid concerns over potential price hikes due to tariffs, Bowser emphasized Nintendo's commitment to the announced prices of $449 for the standard Switch 2 and $499 for the bundle with Mario Kart World. He noted that while market conditions are fluid, Nintendo aims to keep their products accessible despite any changes.
