Dune: Awakening's sandworms: a force of nature, not a player's tool. Unlike the novels, players can't summon sandworms at will using a thumper.

Sandworms are independent NPCs with programmed behaviors and patrol routes. While you can't summon them to attack enemies, actions like moving through the sand or using a thumper might attract their attention. However, this isn't guaranteed.
Riding sandworms, a key element of Freman culture, is currently unavailable. The developers attribute this omission to considerations from the Dune film franchise.
Future updates may add Freman-related content, potentially including sandworm riding. For now, it remains uncertain.
Dune: Awakening launches on PC May 20th, with console releases to follow.
