Dune: Awakening Nears 100K Players Amid Early Access

Dune: Awakening hasn't officially launched yet, but it's already smashed Steam records with nearly 100,000 concurrent players.

Steam data reveals Dune: Awakening hit 93,634 simultaneous players on June 5, despite being available only to "head start" purchasers of the $69.99 Deluxe or $89.99 Ultimate editions. The full release arrives June 10, 2025.

While concurrent players don't tell the whole story - especially since PC is currently the only platform - it's an impressive start ahead of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions.

With weekends typically seeing higher player counts, Dune: Awakening might break its own record before June 10. Ranking 195th among Steam's all-time peaks is remarkable for a pre-launch title.

Our full review isn't ready yet, but beta testing revealed impressive depth: "As Dune enthusiasts, we appreciate Funcom's meticulous worldbuilding - even with creative liberties placing Awakening in parallel continuity. Clever gameplay details we can't spoil create authentic moments that'll delight franchise fans."
