Following the events of Dying Light: The Following, Kyle Crane's fate has been a burning question for fans. The Beast finally delivers the answers. Franchise director Tymon Smektała highlights this DLC not only as Crane's story conclusion, but also a crucial bridge connecting Dying Light and Dying Light 2: Stay Human.
The series' signature parkour faced new challenges in The Beast's rural setting. Developers had to reimagine movement, integrating industrial structures and natural elements like trees and cliffs. The result is a dynamic, environment-specific parkour system that retains the franchise's core feel.
While Stay Human emphasized action, The Beast returns to the series' roots of constant threat and resource scarcity. Ammunition will be limited, enemies deadlier, especially at night in the dark forest. Running—and strategic retreat—will once again be crucial for survival.
Dying Light: The Beast promises a significant addition to the franchise, resolving long-standing mysteries, concluding Crane's arc, and setting the stage for future installments. Release is slated for Summer 2025.
