At Droid Gamers, we receive a wide array of gadgets, but a projector is a fresh addition to our lineup. The Formovie Episode One caught our eye, especially with its promise of streaming mobile games onto a larger screen. This projector aims to cater to those on a tighter budget, and we believe it successfully achieves this goal, despite some minor drawbacks.
Right out of the box, you're equipped with the projector, a remote (batteries not included), a power cable, and a manual. While it may not have the heft of pricier models, its weight of three pounds enhances its portability, making it an easy companion to take on the go.
The Episode One comes with limited ports, featuring just one USB-A port, one HDMI port, and a single audio jack. While this might be a constraint for some, it's quite reasonable given the price point and should suffice for most users.
Performance-wise, the Episode One holds its own, boasting 150 ISO lumens. It's not the brightest or most powerful laser-based projector available, but it performs admirably in darker settings, which is what you'd expect. Our tests showed it struggling under bright sunlight, but in the dark, it shone clearly with every film, TV show, and streamed game we tested.

For the best image quality, positioning the projector at least 10 feet away is necessary. The sound from the built-in speaker is passable but somewhat tinny, suggesting that pairing it with an external speaker would enhance your experience significantly.
The user interface of the Episode One is notably user-friendly, outshining many of its more expensive counterparts. Its straightforward, budget-friendly design actually makes it more intuitive and easier to navigate.
In summary, the Formovie Episode One is an excellent entry-level projector. It may not excel in any single area, but it's a reliable all-rounder that will meet the needs of most casual users effectively.
