Fortnite Adds a Highly Requested Feature

Fortnite's Chapter 6 Season 1 update introduces a highly anticipated feature: using Fortnite Festival instruments as pickaxes and back blings! This addition, accessible via a dedicated "instruments" option in the locker, has been met with overwhelmingly positive player feedback.

Beyond the musical weaponry, the update boasts new cosmetics from the Godzilla collaboration, including outfits and accessories. This builds on December 2024's additions of Ballistic, LEGO Fortnite: Brick Life, and Fortnite OG modes.

Fortnite Festival itself continues to expand. Seen by many as a successor to Guitar Hero, it features licensed music, instrument cosmetics, and recently added local co-op. High-profile collaborations with artists like Snoop Dogg, Metallica, and Lady Gaga have further boosted its popularity.

The ability to equip instruments as both pickaxes and back blings is a surprising and welcome addition to the battle royale mode. Microphones, guitars, and other instruments seamlessly transition between roles; disappearing when used as a pickaxe and reappearing upon switching items. This update also includes a significant Hatsune Miku crossover, adding new outfits and instruments.

The improved instrument functionality extends to previously back-bling-only items, now updated for use within Fortnite Festival. This enhancement, a long-standing player request, has been exceptionally well-received.

Completing the update is the exciting Godzilla collaboration, offering pink and blue edit styles for Godzilla outfits, plus unlockable accessories like wraps, harvesters, and gliders, through battle pass challenges. The wealth of new content has generated significant excitement within the Fortnite community.
