The long-awaited return of Fortnite to the U.S. Apple App Store has finally arrived, much to the delight of iPhone and iPad users. Epic Games announced the news with a celebratory post on X/Twitter, signaling the end of a five-year hiatus for mobile gamers eager to dive back into the popular battle royale game. The Fortnite iOS store page is now live again, maintaining the same look it had when it was removed in 2020, but with a fresh message: "Fortnite is back!"
Fortnite is BACK on the App Store in the U.S. on iPhones and iPads... and on the Epic Games Store and AltStore in the E.U! It’ll show up in Search soon!

Some U.S. Apple users might initially face challenges finding Fortnite through the App Store's search function, but Epic assures that this issue will be resolved "soon." In the meantime, you can access its revived store page directly. For those in the E.U., Fortnite is now available for download through the Epic Games Store and AltStore.
The return of Fortnite to iOS devices marks the resolution of a long-standing conflict between Epic Games and Apple. The drama began in August 2020 when both Google and Apple removed Fortnite from their digital stores following an update by Epic that reduced the price of V-Bucks and introduced a direct payment system. Epic cited "exorbitant" fees from Apple and Google as the reason for their move.
This sparked a legal battle that lasted years, keeping Fortnite off official storefronts for millions of players. The situation changed in April when Epic CEO Tim Sweeney announced that Fortnite would return to the iOS App Store in early May, following a ruling by a U.S. Federal District Court in California. Despite a delay due to continued resistance from Apple, Fortnite is now back on iOS devices after five years.
Players who download Fortnite on their Apple devices can now choose to purchase V-Bucks either through the Epic Games Store or via in-app purchases. For example, those opting for the 2,800 V-Bucks pack priced at $22.99 can send the payment directly to Epic, receiving a 20% rebate ($4.60) to use on other Epic offerings.

For more on Fortnite, delve into Epic's Darth Vader AI bot, a collaboration with Star Wars that faced some controversy when players discovered a way to make it say profanities. The Screen Actors Guild - American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) filed an unfair labor practice charge against Epic recently over this issue.
