Although fans were hoping for more during its fleeting on-screen moment, the upcoming July State of Play promises to deliver what many have been waiting for: an in-depth look into the sequel’s refined gameplay systems. According to the blog, the special segment will focus exclusively on Ghost of Yōtei, highlighting its evolved mechanics in areas such as exploration, combat, and other immersive features yet to be revealed.

Sucker Punch officially unveiled the follow-up to Ghost of Tsushima last September. This time around, players will step into the role of Atsu, a new protagonist embarking on a brutal journey through Japan in the year 1603. While the wait for story details and gameplay footage has tested the patience of longtime fans since the original launched in 2020, creative director Nate Fox has assured that the team remains committed to delivering a respectful and culturally thoughtful portrayal of Japan—just like in the first game.
