Batman: Arkham Knight Sequel Art Surfaces

by Benjamin Nov 05,2025

Exciting concept art from the scrapped Damian Wayne Batman game, codenamed "Project Sabbath," has emerged online, revealing stunning visuals of an aged Bruce Wayne alongside his son as the next Dark Knight.

The ill-fated project was in development at Warner Bros. Games Montreal (creators of Batman: Arkham Origins) following 2015's Arkham Knight. This ambitious sequel would have featured a revolutionary father-son dynamic between two Batmen.

Ultimately axed by Warner Bros., the studio pivoted to develop 2022's divisive Gotham Knights - a shockingly Batman-less entry in the franchise.

Sabbath was poised to be WB's flagship Batman title while Rocksteady explored other DC properties, only to return to Gotham with the controversial Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.

Newly surfaced ArtStation posts from former WB Montreal artists showcase striking designs: a fresh-faced Damian Wayne, a grizzled Bruce sporting a full beard, plus radical reimaginings of classic villains like Killer Croc and Huntress.

This marks the second major concept art leak - back in 2021, another developer revealed Damian's sleek crimefighting suit featuring a bold red Bat emblem, though Bruce's face remained concealed inside his cowl.

Following Gotham Knights' mixed reception and Rocksteady's Suicide Squad misfire (which saw WB Montreal provide additional support), the studio underwent significant layoffs in December 2024. Interestingly, Rocksteady is rumored to be returning to its roots with a new single-player Batman adventure.

Could this finally materialize as the definitive Bruce-and-Damian story fans have craved? Only time will tell if the Dark Knight will rise again - this time with his prodigal son by his side.
