League of Legends is bringing back Hextech Chests, responding directly to player feedback. Read on to learn about this update and other changes coming to LoL.
Riot Games acknowledged recent unpopular changes, stating, "Recently, we’ve made changes that didn’t resonate with everyone. Your feedback is clear: adjustments are needed." The return of Hextech Chests was a key request. LoL explained, "Hextech Chests were more than just loot; they were a rewarding part of the League experience. We underestimated their importance, leading to poorly received changes."
Hextech Chests return in patch 25.05, with players earning up to 10 chests and keys per act. Eight chests are available through the free pass, and two more can be earned via the Honor system.
The Exalted Mordekaiser skin release is delayed, allowing Riot Games to "better deliver on its core fantasy." The entire Exalted skin line will also be delayed, meaning fewer skins than originally planned this year.
Responding to further player feedback, LoL will replace a non-Prestige skin with 25 Mythic Essence, addressing concerns about Mythic Essence availability in the paid pass and the number of champions per seasonal theme.
To improve champion accessibility, the Blue Essence cost for all champions will be reduced by 50% in patch 25.05.
Clash, previously scheduled less frequently, will return to a monthly schedule. March will feature ARURF Clash, followed by regular SR Clash in April.
Popular shops, Your Shop and the Blue Essence Emporium, are returning. Your Shop is slated for patch 25.06, and the Emporium for 25.07.
Riot Games concluded, "Improving League is an ongoing process, requiring continuous refinement. Today’s updates are a significant step. We’ll monitor player response, gather feedback, and make further adjustments as needed." This demonstrates Riot Games' commitment to incorporating player feedback to enhance the game.
