HoYoverse is rolling out invites for the highly anticipated Honkai: Nexus Anima CBT - the franchise's fresh take on creature-collecting adventure strategy. Blending multiple gameplay elements, this marks the first time players get hands-on experience with the upcoming title.
Dubbed the Nexus Bond Test, sign-ups launched today (August 29, 2025) at 12:00 UTC+8 and will run through September 12. Currently available for PC and iOS platforms (Android excluded), the beta requires both pre-registration and questionnaire completion for selection. Note: All progress will be wiped post-test as development continues.
The project first surfaced during May's Honkai: Star Rail anniversary concert, with today's announcement offering deeper insights into gameplay. Get your first proper look at Nexus Anima below.
Players assume the role of a dimension-hopping traveler escaping captivity to navigate a shattered reality where fundamental bonds (Nexus) between opposing forces have fragmented. These broken connections manifest as Anima - mystical companions aiding both exploration and combat.
The Anima system showcases diverse themes and personalities - from elemental forces to emotion-based traits and even culinary-inspired characters. As the journey unfolds, players unravel both the Nexus mystery and their character's hidden past.
Notably, franchise favorites Blade (Honkai: Star Rail) and Kiana (Honkai Impact 3rd) appear as bridging characters, tying Nexus Anima to the broader Honkai multiverse.
