Hyper Light Breaker Character Guide: Unlockable Breakers and Playstyles

Hyper Light Breaker offers diverse gameplay with multiple characters, or "Breakers," each possessing unique fighting styles. This guide covers all currently available characters and their unlock methods (note: this reflects the early access version).

Unlocking New Characters:

To unlock new Breakers, you'll need Abyss Stones, dropped by Crowns (bosses). First, acquire Prisms (keys to boss arenas) indicated by golden diamond icons on the map. Defeat a Crown, return to the Cursed Outpost teleporter, select your desired Breaker, and spend Abyss Stones to unlock them. Currently, only two characters are unlockable via this method; the process for future characters may differ.

All Characters and SyComs:

Each Breaker starts with a SyCom, defining their base stats and core perk, thus shaping their playstyle.

Vermillion

• Default SyCom: Gunslinger: Focuses on ranged combat. Critical hits from Rail shots guarantee a subsequent crit.
• Unlockable SyCom: Tank: Rewards perfect parries with increased armor, offering superior defense and melee stats.

Lapis

• Default SyCom: Lightweaver: Boosts Rail shot damage after collecting a Battery.
• Unlockable SyCom: Warrior: Increases core stats with each upgrade, making her exceptionally powerful late-game.

Goro

• Default SyCom: Astrologer: Accelerates Blade skill charge while shooting.
• Unlockable SyCom: Sniper: Significantly increases critical hit rate, making him a high-risk, high-reward ranged damage dealer.
