NBC Universal has unveiled the final trailer for Jurassic World Rebirth, offering fans a glimpse into the thrilling new film and showcasing both classic and innovative dinosaur species. The movie, featuring Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey, and Mahershala Ali, follows an extraction team on a perilous mission to a notorious island research facility, once part of the original Jurassic Park, now teeming with the most dangerous dinosaurs left behind. Directed by Gareth Edwards, renowned for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and penned by David Koepp, the original screenwriter of Jurassic Park, this film promises an exhilarating experience.

Here's the official synopsis:

Five years post-Jurassic World Dominion, the Earth's ecology has shown to be largely inhospitable to dinosaurs. The surviving ones are confined to isolated equatorial zones with climates mirroring their prehistoric habitats. Within this tropical biosphere, the three largest creatures on land, sea, and air possess DNA that holds the key to a groundbreaking, life-saving drug for humanity.

Academy Award nominee Scarlett Johansson stars as Zora Bennett, a covert operations expert, tasked with leading a skilled team on a clandestine mission to obtain the crucial genetic material. Their operation collides with a civilian family's boating mishap caused by rogue aquatic dinosaurs, stranding them on a forbidden island that once served as a secret research facility for Jurassic Park. Amidst a variety of dinosaur species, they unearth a sinister secret that has been concealed for decades.

The final trailer reveals several exciting elements. A standout is the river raft scene inspired by Michael Crichton's Jurassic Park novel, a sequence that Koepp mentioned was originally omitted from the 1993 film. Koepp revisited Crichton's works to infuse the sequel with fresh yet nostalgic elements, including this long-awaited scene.

Can a T-Rex swim? Yes, it turns out.

Another highlight is the introduction of new dinosaurs, such as the 'D-Rex,' or Distortus Rex, a mutant hybrid reminiscent of a T-Rex crossed with a Star Wars Rancor. Gareth Edwards described it as, “It’s kind of like if the T-Rex was designed by H.R. Giger, and then that whole thing had sex with a Rancor.”

This is the Distortus Rex, aka the D-Rex. Rancor vibes?

The trailer also features winged Mutadons, a blend of pterosaur and Raptor, adding to the film's array of fearsome creatures.

Jurassic Park always has a terrifying raptor scene. This time, there are Mutadons.
