When King of Crabs burst onto the scene in 2019, its quirky concept captured gamers' hearts. It was a battle royale game, but with a twist—instead of humans, you controlled crabs. Now, the developers at Robot Squid are diving back into the world of crustacean combat with an even more ambitious project: King of Crabs – Invasion.
Robot Squid has transformed the original game's format from a chaotic battle royale into a strategic real-time strategy (RTS) experience. Rather than dropping into a frenzied tidepool with 99 other players, you now lead your crab army across a linear battlefield. The gameplay shifts from scavenging for weapons and consuming smaller creatures to grow, to strategically deploying various units like standard crab soldiers, catapults, and mace-wielding tanks with claws. Each match is a tactical showdown where the goal is to outmaneuver and overpower your opponent, navigating through diverse maps and unexpected obstacles.

King of Crabs – Invasion has already launched in select regions including Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Vietnam, and Singapore. For players worldwide, the game will be available on Android starting May 30th, marking an exciting expansion from the original game's concept. This new title serves as a thrilling spin-off from the debut game by Robot Squid, a British indie studio founded in 2018. In collaboration with Spilt Milk Studios, they released the first King of Crabs in 2020 across Microsoft Windows, Android, and iOS platforms. At its peak popularity, it was dubbed "Fortnite with claws."
