Krysten Ritter Confirmed to Reprise Jessica Jones Role in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2

Krysten Ritter is set to reprise her role as Jessica Jones in the upcoming Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again on Disney+. The announcement was made during the Disney Upfront presentation in New York, as reported by Variety, confirming months of speculation and rumors about the return of Netflix's Defenders to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Ritter appeared alongside Charlie Cox, her co-star from Daredevil and The Defenders, to share her enthusiasm about returning to the role. "It’s so great to be back, returning to Jessica after three seasons and The Defenders and now joining the MCU," Ritter stated. "I’m so excited to bring back this iconic character, and without giving too much away, there is much more in store for Jessica Jones. This is going to be an incredible season!"

The end of Netflix's Marvel programming seemed to close the door on Ritter's portrayal of the character, but Disney's 2021 reacquisition of certain character rights, including Jessica Jones, opened new possibilities.

The return of Charlie Cox as Daredevil in Spider-Man: No Way Home and his own Disney+ series, Daredevil: Born Again, sparked fan theories about other Netflix heroes joining the MCU. With the Punisher playing a significant role in Season 1, Ritter's return in Season 2 aligns perfectly with these developments.

Ritter's last appearance as Jessica Jones was in Season 3, which aired in 2019. Her comments at the upfront presentation hint at more to come for the character within the MCU, though for now, fans can look forward to seeing her in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. While Disney has not yet announced a release date, showrunner Dario Scardapane has indicated that new episodes are expected in March 2026.
