Pokémon Day 2025 may be over, but the surprises keep coming! A new event in Pokémon GO lets you catch the adorable and powerful Kubfu. Here's how.
The "Might and Mastery" event in Pokémon GO introduces the Wushu Pokémon, Kubfu. Many players have eagerly awaited Kubfu and its evolution, Urshifu, since their debut in the Pokémon Sword and Shield DLC. Now's your chance! To catch Kubfu, complete the Special Research tasks found in the "Might and Mastery" section of your Special Research tab. Here's the breakdown:
Research Task | Reward |
Explore 3 km | 15 Poké Balls |
Defeat 3 Team GO Rocket members | 5 Revives |
Use a super-effective Charged Attack | Use a super-effective Charged Attack |
Completing these tasks will unlock a Kubfu encounter, along with 891 XP. Remember, this Special Research is only available until Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at 9:59 AM local time.
Want more than one Kubfu? The paid "Fuzzy Fighter" Special Research pass (USD $8) offers additional tasks and a chance to catch a second Kubfu. This pass includes:
The "Fuzzy Fighter" pass is available until March 10, 2025, at 10 AM local time. Note that the tasks themselves will remain accessible after purchase.
While Kubfu is undeniably cute, competitive players will want to know about its evolution into Urshifu. Currently, evolution isn't possible, but future updates may change this, especially considering Kubfu's evolution is featured in the "Might and Mastery" event loading screen.
That's how to get Kubfu in Pokémon GO! For more, check out all the free item promo codes for March 2025.
