Lunar Remastered Collection Release Date Announced

The highly anticipated Lunar Remastered Collection arrives April 18th, bringing the classic JRPG duology to modern platforms. Developed by Game Arts and published by GungHo Online Entertainment, this collection will be available on PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC (with PS5 and Xbox Series X/S compatibility).

This remaster boasts updated visuals, a re-recorded soundtrack, and numerous quality-of-life improvements. Features include fully voiced dialogue (Japanese and English), newly added French and German subtitles, a classic mode for nostalgic players, and enhanced gameplay mechanics such as faster combat and auto-battle options. The Lunar Remastered Collection was initially revealed during a 2024 Sony State of Play presentation, exciting fans of the original Sega CD and PlayStation releases. The collection includes remastered versions of Lunar: The Silver Star and Lunar: Eternal Blue, both critically acclaimed RPGs, particularly the Sega Saturn versions. This release follows a trend of beloved JRPGs receiving modern remasters. While the commercial success of the Lunar Remastered Collection remains uncertain, the previous success of the Grandia HD Collection (a collaboration between the same developers and publisher) suggests a positive outlook.
