Wylder is a versatile and balanced character, ideal for newcomers. His Sixth Sense passive grants a chance to survive otherwise fatal blows, giving you a second chance in tight situations. While he doesn’t specialize in any particular weapon type, he can effectively wield most martial armaments. His preferred weapon is the Greatsword.

As the tank of the group, the Guardian excels at absorbing damage and controlling enemy aggression. He thrives when using large shields alongside weapons like Halberds, Rapiers, or Hand Crossbows that can be used while guarding. Though his damage output is lower than other Nightfarers, his durability and disruption abilities make him a formidable frontline fighter.

Ironeye is a ranged specialist who shines with bows, though his high Dexterity also makes him proficient with daggers and curved swords. However, his low health and stamina mean he’s not suited for direct confrontation. That said, his straightforward skillset makes him a solid choice for beginners looking to stay at range.

The Duchess is a fast, agile fighter who relies on evasive maneuvers to dart in and out of battle. Her starting dagger features a powerful skill that enchants her blade with Magic affinity, boosting her damage. With strong Intelligence and decent Faith scaling, she’s also capable of wielding Glintstone Sorceries and Incantations. Look for weapons with Magic or Frost Affinity, or those that trigger effects like Frostbite or Blood Loss.

### RaiderBrute force defines the Raider. With high Strength, he dominates in close combat using large or colossal weapons. His FP pool is limited, making it difficult to use weapon arts frequently. However, his natural resilience allows him to withstand heavy attacks without staggering, ensuring every blow lands.

The Revenant serves as a support-focused Nightfarer, leveraging her high Faith to cast offensive Incantations. While her direct damage potential is modest, her passive ability summons spectral shades to fight by your side—distracting enemies and dealing additional damage over time.

### RecluseA master spellcaster, the Recluse uses her FP-restoring skill to maintain a relentless magical assault from afar. She excels with both Sorceries and Incantations and can wield weapons of Magic, Frost, Fire, Holy, and Lightning affinities. While her defensive options are limited, mastering her FP management can lead to devastating results.

Precision and finesse define the Executor. High Dexterity and Arcane stats give him access to a wide array of smaller weapons, especially Katanas, which scale well and trigger Blood Loss effects. Positioning is key due to his low durability, but his agility and damage make him a deadly duelist.

Limveld is a sprawling map filled with diverse locations and encounters. Maxroll’s Limveld Map & Key Locations guide walks you through each region, detailing enemy types, notable bosses, and the rewards awaiting you upon completion.
During your journey, Raid Events may randomly appear—these intense battles challenge you with powerful foes, and victory grants a valuable Power that lasts throughout your run. Learn more with Maxroll’s Raid Events guide.
Defeating a Nightlord triggers a Shifting Earth event, transforming part of the map into a dynamic zone teeming with boss fights. Clearing these events rewards you with special Powers. Explore this mechanic further in Maxroll’s Shifting Earth event guide.
Roundtable Hold serves as Nightreign's main hub. Here, you can switch between Nightfarers, prepare for expeditions with Relic Rites, test your builds in the Sparring Ground, review lore in the Visual Codex, track your progress via the Journal, and depart from the Table of Lost Grace to face off against a Nightlord. Discover everything this hub offers in Maxroll’s Roundtable Hold guide.
Relics and Vessels form the backbone of Nightreign's metaprogression system. Upon completing runs, you earn Relics and Murk, which can be spent at the Small Jar Bazaar. Some Relics feature random modifiers, while others—often obtained through quests or defeating bosses—offer fixed, powerful bonuses. As you advance, you unlock more Vessels, allowing you to customize Relic loadouts for each Nightfarer. Dive deeper into this system with Maxroll’s Relics and Vessels guide.
Spells in Nightreign belong to distinct Spell Schools, each determining which buffs enhance your abilities. For instance, Glintstone Sorceries benefit from specific modifiers, while Godslayer Incantations have their own set. If you're unsure how to optimize your spell progression, refer to Maxroll’s Sorcery and Incantation School Guide.
