Nintendo, Retro Studios, and Piggyback are joining forces to release a stunning Metroid Prime art book in Summer 2025. This exciting collaboration offers an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the development of the acclaimed Metroid Prime series.
Nintendo and Piggyback, a renowned guidebook publisher, have teamed up to produce Metroid Prime 1-3: A Visual Retrospective. Retro Studios, the creative minds behind the series, have contributed extensively, providing invaluable insights into the series' two-decade history.
This art book showcases a wealth of "drawings, sketches, and assorted illustrations from the Metroid Prime series," as detailed on Piggyback's website. It's more than just a visual feast; it offers context and perspective on the development of Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, and the recent Metroid Prime Remastered.
Beyond the high-quality artwork and developer sketches, the book includes:
With 212 pages of captivating content, readers will gain unparalleled insight into the creation of these four iconic games and the inspirations behind them. Priced at £39.99 / €44.99 / A$74.95, the book is not yet available for purchase but can be found on Piggyback's website.
This isn't Piggyback's first collaboration with Nintendo. The company previously produced official guides for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, providing comprehensive support for players navigating Hyrule.
These guides were renowned for their detail, covering everything from Korok seed locations to weapon and armor specifications. The BOTW guide even included complete coverage of its DLC expansions.
While not an official guide, Piggyback's proven ability to create visually stunning artwork, demonstrated in their BOTW and TOTK guides, promises an equally impressive experience in the upcoming Metroid Prime 1-3: A Visual Retrospective.
