Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Lands on PS5

by Ryan Mar 16,2026

Another major Xbox title is making its way to the PlayStation 5, and this one is Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.

The upcoming edition of Microsoft Flight Simulator debuted in a new trailer during today's PlayStation State of Play and is scheduled to launch on the Sony console on December 8, 2025.

The trailer also confirmed that PlayStation VR2 support is in the works. This feature won’t be ready for the initial release but is planned as a complimentary update in 2026.

"To truly elevate the PlayStation experience, we fully integrated the immersive capabilities of the DualSense wireless controller," wrote Microsoft Flight Sim lead Jorg Neumann in a PlayStation blog post announcing the news. "Adaptive triggers react to various ground speeds and surface textures, while also offering nuanced resistance during flight maneuvers.

"Air traffic control communications are routed through the controller's speaker to replicate the authentic atmosphere of a real cockpit. Gyro controls, light bar functionality, and a customizable touchpad further deepen the sense of immersion while flying."

Once again developed by Asobo Studio in collaboration with Microsoft Game Studios, owners of the PlayStation 5 version of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 will receive the latest iteration of the game, including the same free World Updates and Sim Updates available on PC and Xbox.
