Capcom's highly anticipated Monster Hunter Wilds, poised to be a groundbreaking entry in the acclaimed franchise, has unveiled a post-launch content roadmap. Here's a breakdown of what awaits hunters in the first major update.
With the February 27th release date fast approaching, Capcom showcased Monster Hunter Wilds' launch trailer during PlayStation's 2025 State of Play. A surprise roadmap revealed the game's planned post-launch content.
Title Update 1 introduces the beloved Mizutsune, a dragon-type monster known for its aquatic habitat and bubble-based attacks inflicting Bubbleblight. Its distinctive pink scales and purple fur also make for visually appealing gear. The trailer shows Mizutsune confronting the newcomer Doshaguma, suggesting a familiar moveset. Its in-game location remains undisclosed.

The update also includes new Event Quests accessible via the in-game Mission Board, offering valuable rewards for defeating various monsters. The exact number of quests is yet to be announced. Additional unspecified updates are also planned, potentially addressing optimization or performance issues. Positive beta feedback suggests a smooth launch.

A second Title Update is scheduled for Summer 2025, featuring another new monster (identity unconfirmed) and additional Event Quests. Further content beyond these two updates remains unannounced, though Capcom's commitment to a successful launch hints at potential future surprises.
