In *Monster Hunter Wilds’* Forbidden Lands, seasons and weather are more than just visual flair; they dramatically impact gameplay. The dynamic environment significantly alters monster behavior, resource availability, and even the intensity of hunts. Let's dive into the details.

Monster Hunter Wilds features two primary seasons: Fallow and Plenty. The game begins in the harsh Fallow season, characterized by scarce resources, intense weather, and aggressive monsters frequently engaging in territorial battles. Survival is a constant struggle.
In stark contrast, the Plenty season offers a warmer, more abundant environment. Flora flourishes, monsters are less hostile, and resources are plentiful. This season is a welcome change for both the villagers and the hunters.
Between these major seasons, brief but intense weather events, known as Inclemency, occur. These periods heighten the environmental challenges and often serve as the backdrop for epic battles against Apex Predators. For instance, the Sandtide, a powerful lightning-filled sandstorm, sets the stage for a challenging encounter with the Alpha Doshaguma during the Pinnacle of the Pack assignment. Expect to face more unique weather events during Apex Predator hunts.

The game provides convenient ways to monitor the current season and weather. The HUD in the bottom-left corner displays icons indicating the time of day and season. For a more comprehensive overview, open your map and access the Environment Overview to see detailed information.
Optional quests also have assigned times and seasons. Completing these quests will temporarily transport you to the specified environment, regardless of the current season in the main game.
The varying seasons impact the environment and creature behavior, making one season potentially more advantageous than another for specific hunts. Fortunately, you can manipulate the season and weather.
To do so, pitch your tent and access the BBQ menu. Select the "Rest" option, and you'll be able to adjust the environment and time before your hunter awakens. However, this convenience comes at a cost: 300 Guild Points and High Rank status are required. Resting during an active quest is also not possible.
This covers the intricacies of seasons and weather in Monster Hunter Wilds.
