Monster Hunter: Wilds adds Lagiacrus

The second free title update for Monster Hunter: Wilds arrives imminently, as confirmed during today's Capcom Spotlight presentation. Launching on June 30th—a date we'd already anticipated following leaks earlier this week.

This substantial update introduces two major new hunts: Seregios from Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate and the fan-favorite Lagiacrus from Monster Hunter Tri. Lagiacrus—renowned for its underwater agility and historic battles with Rathalos—returns with modified mechanics since aquatic combat won't be the primary focus. However, developers have cleverly incorporated underwater elements through special environmental interactions.

Beyond these formidable beasts, the update packs numerous quality-of-life improvements and fresh content launching June 30th: long-requested layered weapons, expanded photo mode options, handler customization, a Fender guitar collaboration gesture, free gesture sets, premium cosmetics, plus various new equipment and rewards.

Mark your calendars for July 23rd when the Festival of Accord: Flamefete seasonal event begins, running through August 6th with exclusive temporary gear. Then on July 30th, prepare for Arch-tempered Uth Duna's arrival—complete with challenging quests and breathtaking new armor sets.

In our launch review scoring Monster Hunter Wilds an 8, we noted: "Wilds skillfully polishes the franchise's remaining rough edges, delivering exhilarating combat while sacrificing some difficulty."

All Monster Hunter: Wilds owners receive this content update free of charge when it releases June 30th. Catch the full Capcom Spotlight recap detailing everything else announced today.
