Hotta Studio's highly anticipated game, Neverness to Everness, has reached a significant development milestone with the launch of sign-ups for the Containment Test, a closed beta exclusive to PC. This upcoming test offers players an early glimpse into the urban open-world action RPG, featuring a unique blend of chaos, exploration, and Esper-driven powers.
Set in the expansive city of Hethereau, Neverness to Everness introduces players to a world where supernatural anomalies coexist with high-speed chases and the freedom of lifestyle choices. The game's trailers hint at a surreal atmosphere, characterized by elements like graffiti-tagged skateboards that seem to have a life of their own, otters with television heads, and a pervasive sense of midnight unease.
During the Containment Test, participants will delve into Hethereau using Esper Abilities to confront unexplained anomalies while balancing everyday life with surreal crises. This beta will showcase the distinct systems that differentiate Neverness to Everness from other games in its genre.
One of the standout features is the emphasis on urban driving, complete with customizable cars and realistic, destructible crashes. Beyond combat, the game offers lifestyle elements such as home ownership and interior design, allowing players to immerse themselves in city life or indulge in decorating between missions.
The Containment Test will support English, Japanese, and Chinese voice-overs, with additional text language options available. Although currently limited to PC, the full release is planned for PlayStation 5, iOS, and Android. Mobile users eager to experience Neverness to Everness will need to wait a bit longer.
Neverness to Everness enters a competitive urban RPG market, alongside titles like Zenless Zone Zero and Ananta. However, with the power of Unreal Engine 5 and Hotta Studio's proven success with Tower of Fantasy, this game is poised to make a significant impact.
